Welcome to Cubicle Gap!

Hello dearest readers!

Welcome to my first blog post and the introduction to my blog (Cubicle Gap). First, I will tell you a bit about myself so you know who it is behind these mystical black shapes that appear on your screen that we often call “letters” and that then form “words”. Lame sarcasm aside, afterwards I will then just give a brief introduction to what you can expect to find on this blog.

I live my online life by two nicknames. The first of which is Neon Anderson, the Anderson part is a homage to my early fanboy fantasies (when I was a kid) towards the first Matrix movie. While Neon is simply because at that same time I loved Neon lights, my PC at the time was fully kitted out with case modding and Neon lighting, I even had lights under and on the sides of my monitor.

Later I had to make a second nickname; this was around the time after InFamous came out, which featured a main character called “Cole”. As I was finding more and more that my nickname was taken on various games, online forums, and website communities, I was forced to create a new name. So I went with something that really was a highlight of gaming for me in the 2010’s (InFamous and its sequels). There were a few other great games, but the first InFamous really stuck with me due to its innovation and touching story. As such, I came up with the new nickname InCole (Infamous Cole). I still use both Neon Anderson and InCole for my online nicknames.

Now, you may be thinking that this is going to be a purely gaming orientated blog, but that is not the case. The purpose of this blog is really just to share some highlights of my weeks/months with you fine folks online in the hopes that you find either useful information or at least something fun or interesting to read/take away from my blog posts. I will also post reviews for movies, tv shows and games on this blog. Depending on the interest in these I will either go for a full review format or my famed “mini-review” format (famed because I used to have a blog on the website GameTrailers.com before they removed the blogging functionality and I noticed that the mini-reviews always received the most comments and views).

In addition, I hope to offer advice and debate pieces that you can all weigh in on or ask advice from me about whatever is on your mind. If it happens to be an area of expertise, I will pick up on the question and answer it. Either directly through the comments or in a Q&A blog piece. The format will depend on the amount of questions received and if there are any overlapping ones.

You may be wondering why you should be interested in my blogs or in anything I have to say. Obviously, that is fully for you to be the judge of, but what I can offer you is my unique way of viewing the world and my uncanny ability to take out personal bias from a discussion or even a review. In addition, 99% of the time I prefer to research any topic I talk or discuss about before entering the discussion. In layman terms; I don’t like to speak out of my ass.

What I can also offer is my many years of professional experience in the IT industry. I built my first PC alone when I was 10 years old and I learnt how to write my name on PC long before I could write with a pen. This does not make me a knowledge guru though, there are always new things to learn and I only offer advice on topics I have researched well, have a lot of experience on and am certain I am not giving bad advice.

My research skills have been obtained through personal experience from my days as a sales person in my family computer store as well as through my schooling, especially my Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.

Last few things to really say about me is that I am nearing 30 years of age and English is actually not my native language and I speak fluent Dutch and basic French. I also understand a tiny bit of German. I am currently working as an Accountant in a large multinational company.

So I hope you will all enjoy the content on this blog and as always, comments are welcome, both positive and negative comments. I will try my best to head your welcome advices and obviously to answer all questions you may have as good as possible!
